CBA's Summer Music Concert

Hundreds of music lovers had the chance to listen to the best young performers from Corby Business Academy at its Summer Concert.

The fantastic event included performances by a wide variety of the school's bands, the CBA Vocalize choir and a number of talented soloists.

The Academy also welcomed brilliant West End performer Tracey Penn, who sang several hit musical numbers, and musicians from Gretton Primary Academy who were very popular with the crowd.

CBA Director of Music Clive Wears said: “This was one of our best shows yet and was a fantastic way to finish a year that has been filled with success for our musicians.

“Our bands performed brilliantly and our soloists did incredibly well.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Tracey Penn for performing at the show and to the students from Gretton Primary Academy who joined us for the first time.

“I would also like to thank all the students and staff who have worked so hard to get ready for this show and to everyone who came along to support us.”

The concert opened with a performance of Brown Haired Maiden on the pipes and drums and included numbers by the Samba Band, Junior Concert Band, Senior Brass Ensemble, Combined Strings, Senior Woodwind Ensemble, CBA Vocalize, CBA Big Band and the Senior Concert Band.

There were solo performances by Rebecca Loveday, Laurie Coleman, Bobbi Devlin and Beth McQuillan.
