Kettering Science Academy boasts one of the most exceptional school buildings in North Northamptonshire. This building along with our dedicated  staff and has given us the all of the raw materials we need to create an inspirational learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

Our aim  is to make learning exiting and enjoyable so that students can thrive and fulfil their potential.     We are seeking to appoint an ‘outstanding’ practitioner of mathematics to provide excellent and innovative leadership of the mathematics department at Kettering Science Academy.

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to add to its team of Exam Invigilators in preparation for this summer’s GCSE and A-Level examinations. Our team of invigilators ensures that all examinations at the Academy are conducted in line with regulations. Our Invigilators contribute to the smooth running of all examinations, including mocks throughout the year. The Exams Officer provides support and guidance to the team of invigilators.

    If you are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential and have an eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Help prepare the examination rooms
    • Ensure all exams are conducted in an appropriate manner in line with regulations
    • Assist with any basic administration linked with the delivery of the exam

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic IT Technician to help ensure excellent services are provided to our customers. Students are at the heart of everything we do and it is essential that the IT infrastructure and resources contribute to a positive learning experience at all times. 

    You will be joining a team of five that provides a full and varied range of network maintenance and support, technician services and audio & visual support for our Academy. In addition, the team provides IT services to Compass Primary Academy which is another Brooke Weston Trust school, located adjacent to KSA. There may be a requirement to support other schools across our Trust as necessary.

    It is a fast paced environment supporting over 150 colleagues and over 1000 students every day. We are proud to occupy a new state of the art building, with an IT infrastructure to match.

    If you can deliver outstanding customer and IT services and want to develop your skills in an organisation that embraces technology, we would love to hear from you.

    Particular responsibilities include;

    • To support the IT Support Service in the maintenance and development of the site.
    • To provide direct maintenance and support to all school staff and students, including PCs, iPads, Laptops, Smartboards and network systems
    • To provide advice and support via remote connectivity / telephone or face-to-face on the helpdesk or around the Academy.

    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Science to join a progressive Science Department after the Easter break. The role would be suitable for both an experienced member of staff or NQTs.

    As a science academy the department’s vision is to continue to raise the profile of science across the Academy. We want to promote and grow science in the Academy, stimulating all students’ interest and enthusiasm for the subject. We are seeking candidates who share our passion for science, who will help us inspire students and be actively committed to innovative teaching and learning in and outside the classroom.

    You would be joining a large, popular and successful department.  All our rooms are fully equipped labs with interactive whiteboards, and we see practical lessons as an essential part of learning science.  All KS4 students are entered for GCSE Sciences, and we have recently expanded to two groups per year taking the separate sciences.  Our students achieved excellent GCSE results in 2016 with 60% achieving at least one C grade and 41% two C grades.  40% of the separate science grades were A/A*.  This put our science results above national average for the first time, measured on Progress 8.  All three sciences are popular choices at A level.

    Following the recent departure of one of our cover supervisors, who has successfully secured a place on a teacher training course, we are looking to appoint to this role.

    We require a self-motivated, flexible candidate to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team. This role would suit someone looking to start a career in teaching or equally someone with more experience within education. Our Cover Supervisors are key members of our team, ensuring that students continue to learn in a supported environment when a dedicated class teacher is unavailable for the period.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Supervise students on a lesson by lesson basis in departments across the Academy.
    • Manage student behaviour and follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies.
    • Be available for tasks and deployment for such things as: accompanying Academy trips, workings with students with SEN, invigilating examinations, collecting and displaying work.
    • There may be a requirement to look after a tutor group.
