    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified practitioner of mathematics to join our successful and supportive maths department from September. This role is suitable for both an experienced member of staff and an NQT.

    This year the mathematics department saw a record number of students achieving A*- C grades and making Levels of Progress in line with national levels of performance. The Progress 8 measure was also the strongest in the school reflecting the strength of the maths team and their high expectation and commitment to student outcomes.

    Following the recent departure of one of our cover supervisors, who has successfully secured a place on a teacher training course, we are looking to appoint to this role.

    We require a self-motivated, flexible candidate to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team. This role would suit someone looking to start a career in teaching or equally someone with more experience within education. Our Cover Supervisors are key members of our team, ensuring that students continue to learn in a supported environment when a dedicated class teacher is unavailable for the period.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Supervise students on a lesson by lesson basis in departments across the Academy.
    • Manage student behaviour and follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies.
    • Be available for tasks and deployment for such things as: accompanying Academy trips, workings with students with SEN, invigilating examinations, collecting and displaying work.
    • There may be a requirement to look after a tutor group.

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic IT Technician to help ensure excellent services are provided to our customers. Students are at the heart of everything we do and it is essential that the IT infrastructure and resources contribute to a positive learning experience at all times. 

    You will be joining a small team that provides a full and varied range of network maintenance and support, technician services and audio & visual support for our Academy. In addition, the team provides IT services to Compass Primary Academy which is another Brooke Weston Trust school, located adjacent to KSA. It is expected that the successful candidate will act as the primary technician for IT services at Compass Primary school operating across both sites in line with our service level agreement. There may also be a requirement to support other schools across our Trust as necessary.

    It is a fast paced environment supporting over 150 colleagues and over 1000 students every day. We are proud to occupy a new state of the art building, with an IT infrastructure to match.

    Particular responsibilities include;

    • To support the IT Support Service in the maintenance and development of the site.

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to appoint a Student Support Officer (SSO) to join its pastoral team. The current team of Student Support Officers provide a holistic approach to pastoral support by assisting with student behavior, attendance and welfare. They work closely with a team of Progress Leaders and a Vice Principal with responsibility for behavior, attendance and welfare. Student Support Officers have specific responsibilities. Our current SSO’s work with designated year groups of students and a link Progress Leader. This role would have specific responsibility for taking the lead in the Isolation Room, supervising students, organising work and resources as necessary.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be an excellent communicator, capable of working effectively with students, colleagues and families
    • Keep accurate records of all dealings with students and families
    • Support positive student behaviour and to follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies
    • Support a coordinated approach to improving attendance, including on occasion undertaking home visits
    • Promote positive attitudes towards education
    • Be passionate and relentless in their pursuit of improved outcomes for all students

All KS4 students are entered for GCSE Sciences, and we have recently expanded to two groups per year taking the separate sciences. All three sciences are popular choices at A level.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Have experience teaching all sciences across Key Stage 3, and be able to demonstrate experience teaching Science at Key Stage 4. Experience teaching at Key Stage 5 would be advantageous but not essential.

    We require a self-motivated, flexible candidate to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team. This role would suit someone looking to start a career in teaching or equally someone with more experience within education. Our Cover Supervisors are key members of our team, ensuring that students continue to learn in a supported environment when a dedicated class teacher is unavailable for the period.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Supervise students on a lesson by lesson basis in departments across the Academy.
    • Manage student behaviour and follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies.
    • Be available for tasks and deployment for such things as: accompanying Academy trips, workings with students with SEN, invigilating examinations, collecting and displaying work.
    • There may be a requirement to look after a tutor group.
