TCA students learn ceramics in lockdown

Students at Thomas Clarkson Academy have been busy making clay piggy banks and emojis thanks to online ceramics lessons being delivered by art teacher Mrs Loosemore.

Mrs Loosemore has been working from her own ceramics studio at home to demonstrate how to make clay masks, garden gnomes and pots, with her lessons being streamed to students who are still attending school.

She said: ‘It has been great fun! The students have been great at interacting with the process and the staff taking the lessons have also enjoyed taking part.

‘It’s been good to keep the practical work going virtually and it’s also very good for the students to see that I continue with my own work outside of the classroom. It’s great to share my work with them.’
