Former BWA student passes out as RAF officer

Congratulations to former Brooke Weston Academy student Emma Turner who has achieved her ambition of becoming an officer in the RAF.

Emma, who is now Flt Sgt Turner, had a virtual passing out parade from RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall, just before Christmas.

Her mum, Mel said: ‘Due to Covid we were unable to attend but the whole event was streamed live. Not only did Emma get her wings she also got two prizes; top observer on her course and best character/leadership on the course so we were incredibly proud!’

Emma is now a helicopter observer with 824 Squadron at RNAS Culdrose and she will now fly as part of a four strong crew on the Merlin Mk 2 helicopters, protecting aircraft carriers.

Emma’s passing out parade can be viewed here.
