Both Arron and fellow teacher Camilla Kerr, from Brooke Weston Academy, were accepted onto the scheme earlier this year, and they are completing their own bespoke projects related to their individual schools. On completion delegates will be qualified as SSAT Leadership Fellows.

Arron said: ‘The Leadership Legacy project gives us the opportunity to go to core events such as the SSAT national conferences, annual lectures as well as visiting schools, shadowing head teachers and meeting other leaders from ‘Leading Edge’ schools.’

Both Arron and Camilla have been on the scheme since spring and they have to complete a project related to their working environment. Arron said: ‘We have to do a ‘thinkpiece’ in a  certain area such as curriculum design, teaching and learning or policy. You can deliver your findings in any way you want and the scheme encourages you to take on a leadership role in school.

‘I have decided to explore positive uses of technology to aid curriculum and evidencing of work. I have been using the Microsoft OneNote Class Notebook feature to allow students to evidence their work digitally and create a portal where students can access resources. I will be writing a blog on my experiences which I hope will provide inspiration and guidance to teachers who wish to use similar methods.’
