Trust students compete at County Challenge Finals

Good luck to teams from Brooke Weston Academy, Corby Business Academy and Corby Technical School who are three of the eight teams in tonight’s County School Challenge finals, which is a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style competition run by Northants Police and Fire service.

Each year schools are challenged to develop ideas about a specific topic that is relevant to young people and the overall winning entry will be developed and put into practice.

Students from across our Trust schools have taken part in inter-school competition and regional heats to get this far. The final starts at 5.30pm today (Monday 9 July) at the Castle Theatre, Wellingborough. Good luck to all the teams taking part, we’re looking forward to hearing about your innovative ideas to promote road safety.

The competition organisers said: ‘The County Schools Challenge aims to encourage students to think about the causes and consequences of people’s actions, and identify solutions or prevention strategies. The scheme recognises the valuable role that schools play in promoting messages that have a society-wide benefit and enables agencies to listen to and learn from young people.’
