Peckover Primary's Performing Arts show

Peckover Primary School’s ‘Performing Arts’ evening was very special with over 40 children performing to a packed house. The theme was ‘Songs from Musical Theatre’ and Mrs Kendal hosted the event

The show included wonderful singing from Nightingales choir and Miss Allen’s choir who performed songs from musicals including ‘Matilda’ and ‘Oliver’ with enthusiasm and passion. Mrs Tombleson’s brass band performed brilliantly, and did a particularly good rendition of ‘Your Heart Will Go On’ from ‘Titanic’. Mrs Hartley’s musicians performed tracks such as ‘A spoonful of Sugar’ playing guitar, ukulele and recorder. The performing arts club entertained the audience with some wonderful solo singing and dance acts.

Miss Tombleson said: ‘This is the fifth year that we have staged the Performing Arts show and it has grown from a half hour performance to a full evening with a theme and more groups than ever taking part. It is a really lovely show and it gives students a real opportunity to perform as they are up on stage with proper lighting. It is something they will remember for a long time. They all did really well and it is a way of showcasing all the great performing arts that take place in school.’

Thank you to Miss Tombleson and Miss Johnson for organizing the event on Wednesday 13 June. Thank you also to all the parent and families who came along to support our young performers - you all made us very proud!
