Managing Investigations - Led by Alison Wayman
 

Investigating disciplinary and grievance cases is a skill which needs to be developed. Failure to properly investigate could undermine any later processes and lead to legal liability. Any person undertaking such an investigation should be trained in the requirements of employment law.

Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) - Led by Giles Osborne 

In this course you will be working with Senior Leaders and Principals to help refine school development priorities and school self-evaluation. This session shows how strengths and weaknesses are highlighted and provide guidance on to how to use the Inspection Dashboard and ASP effectively.

Essential People Skills for Line Managers - Led by Kathryn Pithey  

The course will be made up of five sessions: ‘HR Basics’, ‘Managing Performance’, ‘Absence Management’, ‘Resolving Conflict’ and ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion’. The session will ensure the participant can:

• Understand that effective Human Resource Management at line manager level is fundamental to organisational success and be made aware of when HR expertise is required.
• Be clear on roles, responsibilities, and expectations of line managers at Brooke Weston Trust.
• Have a suite of resources to help effectively manage your teams through a number of difficult scenarios.

The Power of Coaching (BWT Trust staff only) - Led by Charlotte Hawker-Smith & Dr Rachel Lawrence 

The OLEVI Institute is an internationally renowned learning syllabus and accreditation pathway designed to develop advanced and professional level coaches and coaches to lead innovation and cultural change. To date the OLEVI Institute has accredited almost 20,000 coaches and facilitators.

The Power of Coaching programme is accredited by OLEVI. Practitioners will gain a deeper understanding about the power of coaching and the impact that great coaching has on learning, being able to confidently apply a number of strategies to deepen the thinking of pupils, inspire colleagues to develop and grow, and become a more reflective and energised professional.

This programme consists of 3 sessions focused on developing your coaching skills with a series of post session challenges, completed over a 6 week period. Full attendance at this programme will enable practitioners to utilise models and approaches to coach pupils and professionals to improve learning, thinking and well-being; professionally challenge expectations and begin to shift mindsets; and model courage, humility and discipline when engaging with coaching conversations. This course will be held at Brooke Weston Academy
