Brooke Weston Trust Primary Training Hub - SEND Support
TEACCH and Autism - Led by Lisa Gill
This one day course (repeated over two sessions) will focus on understanding the theories around autism and then how we can then use these theories to provide an autism specific approach for our students using Structured TEACCHing which is the educational element of the TEACCH approach. By the end of the course delegates should have gained understanding of what it’s like to be on the autistic spectrum and have strategies that they can take back into the classroom to support their pupils.

Supporting Children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs - Led by Kristina Smith
These sessions will develop your understanding of the complexities around communication and provide you with strategies to support children with speech, language and communication needs in your classroom. It is recommended that delegates should attend all 3 sessions to get maximum benefit from the training.

Quality first teaching to support SEND learners in the mainstream setting - Led by Rachel Mortlock
The course will consider the focus on learners with SEND in the 2019 Ofsted Framework and how to develop a whole school approach to inclusion which puts pupils with SEND at the centre. It will explore curriculum design for inclusion and a range of approaches to supporting pupils with SEND within mainstream classes.

Maths anxiety, or something more? Looking at ways to understand and support children with maths-related difficulties.

Guided practice and scaffolding for SEND - Led by BWT Curriculum Group
This session focuses on whole class direct instructional teaching methods which scaffold learning not only for SEND, but supports all learners.

This session will look at dispelling the myths of dyslexia, finding out what it is, the impact it has on learners and strategies to support in the classroom.

Supporting SEND learners in the classroom through making reasonable adjustments - Led by Becky Annetts
Do you have a SEND child in your class and you are finding it difficult to make reasonable adjustments for them? This session will share/explore many suggestions for how to make reasonable adjustments within the classroom for children with various SEND needs.
