Gretton Primary Academy goes plastic free at lunchtime

Gretton Primary School is proud to be the first school in the Brooke Weston Trust to go plastic free at lunchtime,  for those children having a school dinner.

The School Council wrote to the lunch providers last year to explain their concerns over the use of small plastic pots for food such as jelly, mousse and cucumber and the needless use of plastic packaging for sandwiches.

The lunch providers listened to what the children said and have now removed all plastic packaging. This does mean a little more washing up for the dinner staff but is well worth this to protect our environment.
