Prize-winning author and illustrator Jim Smith spoke about his books and even drew personalised pictures, including one of Beanfield’s Principal Mr Leyton Smith.
The Chairs of Governors from across our Trust have signed Ambition for All pledges, which will be displayed in their respective schools. The pledges, which are also signed by our CEO and each Principal, encapsulate this year’s campaign to champion ambition for all our students and staff.
Former Brooke Weston teacher Tamsin Winter spoke to students about her first novel ‘Being Miss Nobody’ which deals with anxiety and mental health issues. Tamsin, who trained as a teacher at Brooke Weston and taught English here until leaving in 2005 always wanted to write and now she is doing author visits and working on her second novel.
Monique Mills is looking forward to sharing our news and achievements in her new role as Thomas Clarkson’s media officer. She previously worked at Brooke Weston Trust schools from 2010 to 2014 and, after a career break, is now back to promote all of our success stories.

Kettering Science Academy is the latest of our Trust schools to host the Ambition for All campaign launch. CEO Dr Andrew Campbell spoke at a series of assemblies outlining the campaign’s aims and what it means to staff and students, individually and as a school community.
Our Ambition for All campaign has been launched at Corby Technical School, with students learning more about plans to implement activities when it is their turn to be the Trust torchbearer in February.

Oakley Vale Primary School is planning a series of projects around the concept of ‘Reach for the Stars’ when the school is the Trust’s ‘Ambition for All’ torchbearer in November. During a special celebration assembly Principal Miss Emma Goodwin outlined the school’s plans for activities including a fireworks and barbecue night for students and parents.
The Mayor of Kettering, Cllr Scott Edwards officially opened Little Explorers preschool at Compass Primary Academy, the first purpose built unit of its kind in the Brooke Weston Trust.
