    Student Lewis Gurney from Brooke Weston Academy is one of only eight talented young chefs to win a Gold Award in a national game cooking competition. As a prize he and the other finalists will take part in a cooking masterclass at the Michelin-starred Northcote Hotel in Lancashire with top chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen.

    Beanfield Primary School has raised more than £250 by running a health snack bar, as part of an ongoing initiative to raise money for Lakelands Hospice. It was just one of a series of events the school ran for National Walk to School Week and promoted healthy snacking as well as fundraising for Lakelands’ ‘Bright Sparks’ appeal.
