Celebrating our first Springboard cohort!

Eighteen wonderful women who work across the trust have just celebrated completing the Springboard Women’s Development programme.

Lucy Steele facilitated this course, which is designed to empower women to formulate a clear sense of direction in both their personal and professional lives.

There was great positive energy within the group with openness and honesty at the forefront of the group discussions. Delegates said that it felt like a “safe space to open up”.

In the final session, inspirational guest speaker Shelley F Knight, spoke to the group about the work she does with SEND families to support emotional, physical and spiritual health by settjng up SENDsational Families CIC this year. This is in addition to her many other ventures, including being a published author and podcaster.

The delegates collaborated in small groups to discuss their personal achievements since the programme began in March, and then shared their insights with the whole group. These ambitious women spoke about the goals they have set themselves, and changes which have taken place in their personal and professional lives since the start of the programme. Many of them also shared how their self-confidence has significantly increased over the past three months.

To celebrate the end of the programme, delegates brought in some lovely homemade cakes and fizzy drinks (non alcoholic!) for everyone to enjoy. This has been a very successful and inspirational programme and we look forward to welcoming more women to join the programme in the Autumn term.

Thank you to Lucy, our Operations Lead at Oakley Vale Primary School, for delivering the course with such enthusiasm, empathy and energy!
