Brooke Weston Trust CCF - Armed Forces Parade

On Sunday 8th June, our Brooke Weston Trust CCF were invited to participate in a military parade through Kettering Town centre.

Kettering hosted the special armed forces parade, coupled with the Royal Anglian Regiment, exercising its freedom of Kettering.

We are so proud of our Cadets who were all amazing and represented the Brooke Weston Trust CCF with pride, conducting themselves with integrity, respect, and exemplary behaviour at all times.

Robert Blomfield MBE TD, Royal Anglian Regiment County Colonel, praised all who took part in the parade, and we could not agree more with his meaningful words below:

“However large or relatively small his or her role was, all those who participated played a very important part because, put quite simply, without everyone turning up there would not have been a parade. Throughout, the five cadet bands and the pipers played absolutely magnificently and all the cadets following on behind them marched with great panache and such obvious pride; each and every one of them a great credit not only to themselves, but also their contingents and to the wider cadet movement.

We are also hugely indebted to all the officers, cadet instructors and the often-forgotten parents of the cadets who, together, ultimately made it possible for the cadets to take part in what was, for all of us, such a special occasion; one which we very much hope will live long in their memories.

Members of the public, who turned out in such very large numbers to support the parade, could not have failed to be impressed by what they were privileged to have witnessed; we hope that it also remains long in their memories because it is highly unlikely that, locally, they will be able to see anything to match it for a very long time.

Please be sure to pass on to all members of your contingents our heartfelt thanks for parading and our admiration for their turnout, bearing and marching - to each and every cadet, officer and adult instructor, a huge well done, you were absolutely brilliant.”

We would like to say a huge well done and thank you to all of our Cadets, Officers, and all who help to support them.
