Corby Technical School Principal at No.10 Downing Street
The Principal of Corby Technical School was invited to meet the Prime Minister and Education Secretary for the second time in a week.
Angela Reynolds was one of a select group of headteachers who were invited to 10 Downing Street to attend a special reception with David Cameron and Nicky Morgan.
The event celebrated the work of free schools and coincided with Mr Cameron’s announcement that he remains committed to opening 500 new free schools over the next five years.
Mrs Reynolds said: “Like all schools we are trying to do our best and aim to provide a fantastic education to young people in our area.
“The reception was a lovely opportunity to see David Cameron and Nicky Morgan again and it gave me an opportunity to speak to colleagues from other schools.”
Prior to the reception Mr Cameron toured Corby Technical School and gave an assembly to its students.
He also recorded a video for his Facebook page in which he said: "Corby Technical School is a free school that's only been going a few short years but in that time it has already become an Outstanding school.
"Today 75 children started Year 7 at this school. There were over 400 applicants for those places - this school is a huge success."
