Thomas Clarkson Academy launches Christmas shoebox appeal

Thomas Clarkson Academy has launched this year’s Christmas shoebox appeal to help bring some festive cheer to those less fortunate.

The Academy has collaborated with The Ferry Project once again and it is asking families for donations with the hope that every tutor group can produce at least one shoebox. One per group would ensure that 50 individuals in Wisbech would receive a present this holiday season.

Head Girl Rugile Lipaviciute and fellow Sixth Former Erin Godfrey (above) are helping to co-ordinate the school's donations.

What donations are needed?

Each box should contain…

1.       A Christmas/greeting card from each tutor group (some may not have received a card for many years)

2.       2 hygiene/toiletry items (simple soap, shampoo, shower gel, sanitary items)

3.       3 food items (non-perishable, i.e. canned food etc)

4.       A hat, scarf & pair of gloves (these could be good quality, clean, second-hand items)

Donations should be made before Wednesday 16th December.

Thanks to everyone for your support.
