Northamptonshire School's Conference 2024: Mental Health & Wellbeing

Following the resounding success of last year's Safeguarding Conference, Brooke Weston Trust, and Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub are proud to be hosting the much-anticipated Schools' Conference on Tuesday 12th March 2024.

This year, we turn our focus towards a pivotal aspect of education and student support: Mental Health & Wellbeing.

The conference is set to deliver invaluable insights, strategies, and discussions led by experts in the field.

We are thrilled to reveal that Dr Pooky Knightsmith, a renowned figure in mental health education, will be our keynote speaker, bringing her wealth of knowledge to our main stage with presentations on "Heard, Held, Healed: creating a sense of belonging" and "Understanding and Responding to EBSA."

Additionally, we will feature critical discussions from the Northamptonshire Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner on "Young People, Mental Health and Serious Violence," and Edurio's presentation on the "Pupil Wellbeing: The Decline in Emotional, Physical and Emotional Wellbeing."

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops and sessions addressing critical aspects of mental health and wellbeing in educational settings.

Highlights include:

- Exploring online mental health support for children and young people with Simon Aston.

- Developing a culture of staff wellbeing shared through personal experience by Ed Carlysle.

- Strategies for suicide prevention presented by Papyrus.

- The innovative "Behaviour Curriculum" explored by Angela Wadham.

And many more sessions designed to empower educators and support staff in their crucial roles.

With a limited capacity of 200 spaces, we urge colleagues to register their interest early to secure their attendance.

This event has been generously sponsored by Great Oakley Estates, Edurio, Office for Police & Crime Commissioner, Northants Virtual School and Northamptonshire School Safeguarding Partnership, enabling the hosts to offer this event free of charge to Northamptonshire schools.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to contribute to a healthier, more supportive school environment.
