BWT senior leaders visit Daubeney Academy

Thanks to the Daubeney Academy who hosted nine of our senior leaders for a fact finding tour where they learned how the school delivers a ‘character curriculum’ where the emphasis is on providing a well-rounded education, supported and enhanced with a range of character based education opportunities.

Executive Principals John Henrys and Leyton Smith along with seven Principals from our primary and secondary schools toured the Academy, which serves Kempston and Bedford, with its headteacher Steven Miles. During the tour they met students, had a presentation about the Academy’s approach and took part in a question and answer session.

Executive Principal, John Henrys, said: ‘This was a great opportunity to liaise with students and professionals from another setting to discuss and share ideas about curriculum enrichment and how we can broaden opportunities for students across our own primary and secondary age phases.  Liaison between schools from different Trusts is always valuable and we were made to feel very welcome at Daubeney Academy. Hopefully in the future they will be able to visit some of our schools for a reciprocal visit to see the curriculum initiatives across our Trust.’
