Meet KSA's top performers
Well done to all our students celebrating their results today. Here's what our high performing students from Kettering Science Academy are planning next!
Naim Sheikh achieved three A* grades in Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics and two A grades in Chemistry and Italian. Naim will go on to study Physics at Durham University. He said: ‘I am very pleased with my results. I was planning to study Natural Sciences but my results have allowed me to study my real passion of physics. I love that everything in physics is connected to maths and I am looking forward to seeing where the subject takes me. Thank you to all my teachers in particular Miss Farrar and Miss Watson, who helped me with the university application process, as well as my parents and friends who have supported me.’
Lee Baker will be studying Natural Sciences at Durham University after gaining an A* in Biology and four A grades in Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics. He said: 'I am pleased that I have achieved the grades I needed. I am looking forward to the course, which will allow me to get a taste for different subjects and develop a variety of skills. I’m also excited to experience the culture and different societies that the university has to offer.’
Adam Doughty is going to study Mathematics at Durham University after gaining two A* grades in Further Mathematics and Mathematics and an A in Physics. He said: 'I am pleased with my results and think the course will provide me with lots of careers choices. I am also looking forward to studying in Durham.'
Amrik Basra will be taking Education studies at De Monfort University after gaining an A* in Sociology and two A grades in English literature and History. He said: 'I was originally planning to take a different career path but this did not work out, however I then decided I wanted to become a primary teacher and everything started to fall into place. I think things happen for a reason and I am very pleased with my results, which are better than I expected. I am really looking forward to the course. The university also work with Millbrook Junior School, and I have completed work experience with them that I really enjoyed, so I am excited and look forward to my future.’
Tommy Winstone will be studying Physics and Economics at Southampton University after gaining four A grades in Economics, Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics. He said: ‘I am very happy with my results and did better in physics than I expected. I’m looking forward to my course as I really enjoyed the subjects at school and thought they would provide lots of opportunities for me in the future.’
