BWA Year 13 maths barbecue

Around 25 students attended BWA’s Year 13 maths barbecue at Wicksteed Park.

The event has been  a tradition that teacher Mark Rowell started where maths teachers and Year 13 students meet up at Wicksteed Park on the last day of their exams for a barbecue.

The barbecue was a great success and extra special as it was a chance to bid farewell to Mr Rowell who has taught A-level maths for a long time. He has been an invaluable asset to the department and students and staff are going to be at a loss without him. We wish him all the best as he starts his new adventure in Moldova.

Teacher Erin Van Wyk said: ‘I now have the pressure to keep up Mark's tradition in hosting this barbecue in the years to come. Personally am going to miss this intake of Year 13 maths students since I have taught most of them from Year 8 when I first joined Brooke Weston so I am suffering a bit with empty nest syndrome!’
