BWA hosts Chief Executives' visit for Ambition School Leadership programme
The Brooke Weston Trust welcomed along senior educationalists and CEOs on an Executive Educators programme run by Ambition School Leadership.
The delegates, from schools and Multi Academy Trusts from all over the country, were on a fact-finding visit to Brooke Weston Academy to learn more about the Trust and quiz our CEO, senior staff and members of the Central Team.
The day comprised an overview of the Trust and key elements including Education Standards, Finance and Audit compliance, supporting Local Governing Bodies and Estates and Procurement.
The Chief Executive strand of the Executive Educators programme equips aspiring and current CEOs with the skills necessary to run a successful MAT. The delegation was accompanied by Efe Olokpa, the Executive Leadership Associate from Ambition School Leadership.
She said: ‘These MAT visits are an opportunity for our participants to visit other Trusts and share good practice. Hopefully they will take back and implement things in their own Trusts. The national programme is quite intensive as it lasts for nine months and covers all the areas of operating a MAT.
Today’s visit went very well, the delegates asked really good questions and were really engrossed and engaged with the content. A highlight is having time with the CEO and asking questions as well as meeting staff from different schools. It is about sharing ideas or raising points for discussion. Usually delegates have about 14 MAT visits over the programme so it demonstrates different cases and educational settings.’
Delegate Ms Tracey O’Keefe-Pullan from Droitwich said: ‘We have got some really good structures in
place already within our MAT but it is one of those opportunities to go and learn with, and from others. There were some really practical ideas from today that we can take back to colleagues working in particular roles and strands. Colleagues here have been so very open and clear with us on a range of issues.’
CEO Dr Andrew Campbell said: ‘This was a great opportunity to welcome delegates from other MATs, tell them more about our operation and share best practice and strategies that are working well. Thank you to the Trust and Brooke Weston staff who supported this visit and shared their knowledge and expertise.’
