Gretton is a small village school which has a strong family feel. In March 2016 it was rated as Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted which highly praised its leadership, governance, early years provision and its focus on the personal development of every child.
The school, which is led by Principal Jane MacDonald, has recently undergone a major extension which has provided it with a new, state of the art hall and additional classrooms. The delightful grounds in which the school is set, provide an exciting and stimulating environment including a trim trail woodland storytelling and adventure area, canopied outdoor classroom, willow tunnels and garden plots, in which the children can enjoy their learning.
Gretton Primary believes that all children are individuals and every single child has their own strengths which the school try to help them to develop. As such all children are valued in the school, all efforts are celebrated with the result that children grow into confident individuals who value their own worth and are confident to go out into the world. The curriculum aims to develop children as self-motivated independent learners.

PART TIME TEACHER – 1 DAY PER WEEK – YEAR 1
Gretton Primary Academy is looking to recruit a part-time teacher for 1 day per week to join our creative, vibrant and high performing village school.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 teacher to join our hard-working team, in a job share role, from February 24th 2020. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake all duties set out in the job description, including Year 1 phonic assessments. We are looking for a dedicated teacher, committed to putting children first, and prepared to go that extra mile to ensure that every child makes excellent progress.

There is a real sense of school community, with supportive parents and experienced and motivated governors. We have a high quality learning environment and are committed to professional development of all staff.
This is a temporary contract to cover a maternity leave and will be until 31st August 2020 in the first instance with the possibility of an extension. This position will be paid on Teachers Main Scale according to experience.
