BWT Leadership Academy

Middle and senior leaders from across our Trust have developed the Brooke Weston Trust Leadership Academy, an exciting new initiative designed to nurture talent and ensure good succession planning across our family of schools. The Leadership Academy Board steers the project and sources training for staff at all levels who are showing they have high potential to be future leaders within the Trust. The Leadership Academy’s training offer includes bespoke training events, personal coaching and career planning advice as well as opportunities to shadow senior leaders via secondments to other Trust schools in different contexts.

The Leadership Academy Board is chaired by LLE Mrs Jane MacDonald, the experienced Principal of Gretton Primary School and leading trainer for the Brooke Weston Trust Teaching School Alliance.

If staff wish to put forward topics and ideas for the Board to consider then please send your suggestions to Mrs MacDonald at

how to apply

We are delighted that you wish to apply to be part of the Brooke Weston Leadership Academy programme.

Through this application process we intend to recruit the next cohort of ambitious leaders who are ready to make a strong commitment to their own future within Brooke Weston Trust.

Those selected will take part in, and help us shape, this pioneering leadership programme which will run for eighteen months from September. We intend that each year's cohort comprises up to 20 participants. Those chosen will help us refine the content of the programme for the benefit of others within the Trust in years to come.

Capping numbers obviously means that not everyone who applies may be able to participate. Should you not be selected for the pilot group, please be assured you will receive a full debrief on your application and interview from a member of the selection panel and your application will be retained for consideration for the next year's cohort.

For further information about the programme, please see below Leadership Academy Prospectus and programme outline. If you are interested in applying, please complete the below application form and return to Molly Hill,
