The Compass Academy (formerly known as the Kettering Science Academy Primary) opened its doors under its new name in September 2016. It has been part of the Brooke Weston Trust since 2013 and is led by Principal Jo Fallowell.

    PE Specialist

    A unique opportunity has arisen at The Compass Primary Academy. We require a full time teacher to deliver PE across our school. The role would be suited to either a primary or secondary specialist that wishes to further their own knowledge of the primary PE curriculum and develop the skillset and knowledge of our staff.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Deliver high quality PE sessions to all children from Reception to Year 6.
    • Promote, develop and support the delivery of high quality teaching and learning in primary PE.
    • Lead PE across the academy.
    • Coach and deliver CPD to staff.
    • Have a commitment to “after school” provision and development of inter and intra school competitions.

  • Compass Primary Academy

    Midday Assistant

    Compass Primary Academy are recruiting 3 new Midday Assistants to work in our busy restaurant over the lunchtime period. The hours of work are 11.50am - 1.10pm daily for 38 weeks of the year. The salary will be pro-rata. Grade 1 Point 1 of the BWT Payscales.

    All Midday Assistants are required to complete a first aid certificate and on occasion will need to come in for meetings outside of your normal working hours and on Training Days as required. You will not be able to take any leave during term time.

    Office Manager (Senior Administrator)

    Compass Primary Academy, established in 2016, is a large primary school in Kettering which serves over 420 students and has its own nursery provision. Compass Primary Academy has been a member of Brooke Weston Trust since 2013 when it was part of an all-through school, Kettering Science Academy. At Compass we believe that every child deserves the best start in life and that’s what we strive to offer. We are looking for like-minded people who share this vision to support us on our journey.

    We are seeking to appoint an experienced Office Manager to provide excellent administration and PA support to the Principal and Senior Management Team at the Academy. Working within an educational environment, the Office Manager will work alongside the Principal in this important and demanding role whilst managing the administrative team within the office. The post holder will be responsible for extensive diary management, the organisation of meetings, minute taking, HR administration and, more widely, overseeing the administrative function within the school. The post holder will also assume the role of Clerk to the Governing Body.

    The successful candidate will work with initiative and have previous experience in a busy administration setting. They will have the ability to process information in a timely, accurate and confidential manner. They will have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and have excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of working in a school would be an advantage.

    Teaching Assistant

    Teaching Assistant Level 2

    Compass Primary Academy are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant for KS2. If you have 2 years experience working in a busy primary school we would love to hear from you.


    You will be required to work 29 hours per week and 39 weeks per year. The salary will be pro-rata and will be Grade 2 Point 4 £16,500 FTE.
