The Compass Academy (formerly Kettering Science Academy Primary) opened its doors under its new name in September 2016. It has been part of the Brooke Weston Trust since 2013 and is led by Principal Jo Fallowell.
We recognise that we can help our children make the most of their talents throughout their life through our core values of Aspiration, Responsibility, Respect, Resilience & Co-operation .
Little Explorers is our pre school which provides a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for our youngest children.
Our children are our top priority; we keep them at the heart of our work. To support our children to achieve their best possible outcome, we equip them with the skills and aspirations they need to start exploring the world and their place within it.
We value each child as an individual and, throughout their time with us, we aim to nurture the whole child. We believe that education is most successful when there is a strong partnership between school and home. With your help and support we aim to work together to provide a caring and stimulating environment in which your child will thrive and develop as an individual.

In Reception we have been learning about ways to look after our planet. After a discussion about littering, some of the children decided to look after our garden by doing some litter picking! #Respect #Responsibility #TeamCompass https://t.co/iAM8S88mtR
As part of our learning about the importance of recycling, the Reception children have had great fun with some giant cardboard boxes, kindly donated to us by Craig from Sigma Rollers in Kettering. They have been transformed into dens, tents, houses, superhero bases and a slide! https://t.co/RmAgxhJd0l
All play is learning. This tiny tea party created by a child in our Extended Provision is also a Fine Motor Skills intervention. Fine Motor Skills are needed for correct pencil grip and to develop handwriting skills. #TeamCompass #WeGrowTogether #AlwaysLearning https://t.co/xyXeDX6d7x
The Strong Start Team have created some fun sessions at local country parks. Follow the link for more information and to book sessions. #WeGrowTogether #LittleExplorersLoveToExplore https://t.co/A9548K9css
2/2 The ducks are hidden around school and any adult in school can exchange one for chocolate in The Wellbeing Hub. The ducks have been hidden, found and traded for treats over 100 times! #StaffWellbeingMatters #EverydayHeroes #TeamCompass https://t.co/IG4hPzD0oo
We are always looking for new and interesting ways to support Staff Wellbeing. We focus on the 'Five ways to Wellbeing' recognised by the NHS and Mind. For the past 5 weeks we have been reminding ourselves to 'Take Notice' by playing a game we call 'Dinky Ducks'1/2
Some more of our favourite photos from this week. Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed all their activities. Mrs Howard enjoyed herself too #TeamCompass https://t.co/XoWr3umrpk
