Corby Business Academy

Corby Business Academy is led by Associate Principal Simon Underwood. It was opened by the Brooke Weston Trust in 2008. Corby Business Academy is a mainstream school with a Special Educational Needs unit provision for children, for example, with speech, language and communication difficulties, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. 

The motto for Corby Business Academy is ‘Care enough to Challenge enough’ and to encourage all of our students to 'aim high'. The Academy has a close-knit community with everyone working together to ensure that all students receive high quality education, care and support to achieve their aspirations.

The academy has developed many links with local businesses and enterprises which has led to many opportunities for its students who leave fully ready for the world of work or further study.

Corby Business Academy also has created a vibrant music department with hundreds of its students choosing to play an instrument and become a member of one the Academy’s many successful bands.  Its Senior Concert Band has performed on the national stage and goes on an annual European Tour.

Its sports teams also compete exceptionally well, with many other extracurricular opportunities on offer at the end of the academy day.

The library runs many innovative events to ensure that all students develop a love of reading.

    We are looking to appoint a Student Support Officer to join our pastoral team. Our current team of Student Support Officers provide a holistic approach to pastoral support by assisting with student behaviour, attendance and welfare. If you are self-motivated and passionate about improving outcomes for all students, we would love to hear from you

    • Be an excellent communicator, capable of working effectively with students, colleagues and families.

    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Science Technician to help build on the huge successes our Science department has already enjoyed. The successful candidate will be joining an established team with an innovative and determined commitment to support teaching and learning in Science. You will be expected to work with teachers as part of a professional team to support learning by providing technical assistance through working with pupils in the delivery/demonstration of practical learning activities and the preparation and maintenance of teaching areas and equipment for pupils.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a forward-thinking approach and will ensure they plan, prepare and set up specific resources/materials/equipment for lessons, under general direction of the class teacher. They will contribute to the development of lesson and work plans and implement structured and agreed practical learning activities for groups or on a one-to-one basis, as prepared by, and under the direction of, the class teacher.

    Assistant Chef

    MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE!

    Job Title: Assistant Chef

    Location:   Corby Business Academy 

    Salary: FTE £18,350 (part-time salary is pro ratad based on hours and weeks worked but is approx £15,500) 

    Hours per week / Weeks per year:  7:00am-3:00pm

    Do you want to make a difference as an Assistant Chef by delivering healthy meals to fuel children in schools, energising them to learn!

    The catering teams across a number of our schools are looking for individuals to join them in the kitchen. Applicants should be strong team players who can follow instructions well and have good communication skills. Successful candidates will contribute to the provision of an effective and smooth catering service through preparation, cooking and serving of food. 

    The potholders will also support the wider teams with training where required. Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

    The contract will initially be for 6 months, with potential for longer term employment up to 12 months or a permanent role at the end.
