 Corby Technical School is an Ofsted rated Outstanding school which was opened by the Brooke Weston Trust in 2012.  The school offers an academic curriculum that has a strong technical bias to suit those young people who have already shown a strong aptitude for and interest in technical subjects like engineering, electronics and computer programming. 

The school works in close partnership with local companies to offer significant elements of work experience relevant to students’ choice of career.  We ensure that our students are fully prepared to move into further study at university or in high-level apprenticeships in technical industries, including engineering, science, architecture and computing.

    About Corby Technical School and the Admin Assistant Role

    Corby Technical School is seeking an outstanding Admin Assistant to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school, providing effective, high-quality administrative support to include reception and reprographics.

    This is an important role in the school as you would be the first point of contact for parents and visitors whether visiting the school or contacting the school by telephone. The Admin Assistant must be personable and exceptionally organised; someone who can adapt to the changing needs of a school. They must also have strong computer skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. 

    The ideal candidate may already have experience in working in a school environment, but the prime requirement is that they are able to work both within a team and under their own initiative. This will be a busy but demanding position where no two days are the same and therefore we will be looking to recruit someone who is able to quickly evaluate what needs doing and respond accordingly. As a member of the administrative team, the successful candidate will:

    • Support the work of the administrative team where needed.
    • Effectively communicate with students, staff, parents and external businesses.

    Corby Technical School is an outstanding free school (part of the Brooke Weston Trust) and we are seeking to appoint a Careers Leader.  The person appointed will be responsible for planning, implementing and quality assuring a careers programme for the school, managing the delivery of career guidance, networking with external partners, including employers, coordinating the contributions subject teachers, tutors and SENCO.

    The Careers Leader will liaise with external partners, such as employers, learning providers and career guidance services, as well as ensure that the various elements of the school’s careers provision are coordinated and managed through a stable and embedded programme. They are also responsible for ensuring that the careers programme continuously improves and that it delivers the impact needed for young people, paying careful attention to feedback from all stakeholders and to the destinations of pupils.

    The person appointed will have a good standard of education.  A Level 7 qualification in CEIAG will be advantageous, the successful candidate must be willing to works towards the CEIAG qualification if they do not currently hold this.  The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate at all levels, with students, staff and parents.   This is a full-time term time only contract.  The postholder will be required to be flexible as there will be holiday working, in particular during results week.  The postholder will also hold a full, clean driving licence.

    Corby Technical School is an outstanding free school (part of the Brooke Weston Trust) and we are seeking to appoint an Education Healthcare Assistant.  Working alongside the SENDCo and Student Welfare Team, the main duties for this person will be to ensure the medical and healthcare needs of students are recorded, maintained and managed in accordance with the Trust’s policies. You will be the first point of contact for student medical queries both internally and externally. Due to the nature of this role, it will be necessary for the successful candidate to provide a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of the work operations.  Ideally the postholder will have previous healthcare experience, hold or be willing to undertake First Aid training and be a confident administrator.

    The person appointed will demonstrate a good standard of education, and be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff and parents.   Normal working hours will be 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 15:30 on Friday.  There will be the need to adapt these hours on occasion to suit the needs of the school.  This is a full-time term time contract.

    Site Assistant

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Assistant within our growing school to join us as soon as possible to support all aspects of the school premises and facilities. This includes supporting the Site Manager and Site Supervisor.

    The responsibilities for this role will include porting, general maintenance, liaison with contractors, cleaning and occasional driving of the minibus.  As a Site Assistant you will be expected to liaise closely with the Site Manager who will be responsible for training and induction.  The principle focus of the job is to provide a clean safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors to the school.

    The person appointed will be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff, parents and the local community as necessary.  The ideal candidate will have a clean full driving licence and be prepared to undertake MiDAS training. This is a daytime role; however working hours will be discussed during the interview process.  There will be the need to adapt these hours on occasion to suit the needs of the school.  This is a 52-week contract so will include working during school holidays.

    We are seeking to appoint four part-time cleaning assistants to join our existing Site Team in keeping our school safe and clean. We have three daytime vacancies and one early evening, each providing 15 hours of cleaning per week. This will be a busy and demanding position.

    Daytime cleaner 10:00 – 13:00

    Daytime cleaner 11:00 – 14:00

    Evening cleaner 16:30 – 19:30

    Corby Technical School is an outstanding free school (part of the Brooke Weston Trust) and we are seeking to appoint an Education Welfare Officer.  The person appointed will be responsible for school attendance through effective working with students, families and pastoral support teams as well as other external agencies. You will be required to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of attendance, investigate absences and ensure students receive support to return to school as quickly as possible. You will analyse data to guide interventions, evaluate their impact and improve figures for attendance and punctuality.

    The Education Welfare Officer will liaise with the Vice Principal (Safeguarding) and must understand and comply with the statutory guidance regarding the safeguarding of children, reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer immediately. 

    The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, have good attention to detail, be reliable and flexible in their working pattern. Experience of working in this environment is desirable.  This is a full-time term time only contract.  The postholder will be required to be flexible as there may be the need to attend meetings during school holiday periods.  The postholder will also hold a full, clean driving licence.

    We are seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to assist within the inclusion team to start asap.     The person appointed will demonstrate a good standard of education, and be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff and parents.   This is a term time only contract and normal working hours will be 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

    Corby Technical School invites you to join our team that is dedicated to providing the very best outcomes for our students.  As a rapidly expanding school, we are seeking a well-qualified, experienced and dynamic Director of Design and Technology.   Subjects delivered within the department include, design technology, engineering and food technology.  Leadership across all of these subjects is a requirement.

    First and foremost, we expect the post-holder to be an experienced, excellent classroom practitioner who has the ability to inspire students as well as other staff.  As Director of Design and Technology we would be looking for a teaching specialism in DT in one or more of the following areas (product design, resistant materials, engineering).  As a department leader within school we expect a commitment to the development of a collaborative and engaging curriculum; and support for other colleagues to ensure high standards are met.  As part of a small Trust of schools’ you will be involved in the subject networks working with other like-minded colleagues in our other schools. We are looking for a January (or earlier) appointment.
