 Corby Technical School is an Ofsted rated Outstanding school which was opened by the Brooke Weston Trust in 2012.  The school offers an academic curriculum that has a strong technical bias to suit those young people who have already shown a strong aptitude for and interest in technical subjects like engineering, electronics and computer programming. 

The school works in close partnership with local companies to offer significant elements of work experience relevant to students’ choice of career.  We ensure that our students are fully prepared to move into further study at university or in high-level apprenticeships in technical industries, including engineering, science, architecture and computing.

Students and staff alike have the common purpose of success and achievement. The aim is to develop confident learners, who take ownership of their learning and are proud of their achievements.  The highest quality teaching, coupled with links to major employers and a technical-based curriculum, ensure high levels of achievement and opportunities to help all students succeed.

    We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to work within the catering team to start in as soon as possible. The ideal candidate may already have experience in working in a school environment, but the prime requirement is that they are personable, friendly, adaptable and able to work both within a team and under their own initiative. This will be a busy and demanding position. 

    The person appointed will be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff and parents as necessary.   Normal working hours will be 7.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 2.30pm Friday.  There will be the need to adapt these hours on occasion to suit the needs of the school.

    We are seeking to recruit new exam invigilators to work within the school to facilitate the smooth running of internal and external examinations.   The role may include scribing or reading for students who have qualified for access arrangements due to special educational needs or disabilities.  You will be given a timetable of examinations when these are in place so flexibility is required.  The post is ideally suited to applicants who can promote a supportive atmosphere for our students and are flexible during daytime hours.

    Successful candidates will need to have good time management skills, be extremely organised and punctual. You will be responsible for invigilating all aspects of examinations and when doing so comply with the Trust and awarding body regulations. All successful candidates will receive full training.

    Corby Technical School are seeking to appoint an experienced, positive and proactive Senior Administrator who will be responsible for the running of the school office and all administrative duties. The role is central to the service provided to the school and the post holder will become a source of information and a point of contact for pupils, parents and staff. There is a strong emphasis on the flexible proactive management of tasks and accurate handling of sensitive data, requiring excellent attention to detail.

    The ideal candidate will already have experience of leading a team of people, but the prime requirement is that they are personable, friendly, adaptable and able to work both within a team and under their own initiative. Key to this role is the ability to respond to the demands of a busy school environment. Experience of working in a school is not essential. This will be a busy but demanding position and we will be looking to recruit someone who is able to quickly evaluate what needs doing and respond accordingly.
