 Corby Technical School is an Ofsted rated Outstanding school which was opened by the Brooke Weston Trust in 2012.  The school offers an academic curriculum that has a strong technical bias to suit those young people who have already shown a strong aptitude for and interest in technical subjects like engineering, electronics and computer programming. 

The school works in close partnership with local companies to offer significant elements of work experience relevant to students’ choice of career.  We ensure that our students are fully prepared to move into further study at university or in high-level apprenticeships in technical industries, including engineering, science, architecture and computing.

Students and staff alike have the common purpose of success and achievement.     We are seeking to appoint Finance Officers within our Northamptonshire schools to provide excellent financial administration and support to the Finance Teams. These roles present a great opportunity to contribute to the effective management of school budgets, to work alongside motivated like-minded colleagues, and also to learn new skills in this dynamic environment.

    The successful candidate will work with initiative and have previous finance experience in a busy setting. The successful candidate will also be organised, enthusiastic and committed.     At Corby Technical School Science is a core subject.  The department provides: 

    • A two year Key Stage 3 Science course for Year 7 and 8 students following the exploring Science scheme of work.
    • GCSE students study the EDEXCEL combined and separate Sciences with one third of the cohort studying Biology, Physics and Chemistry as separate Sciences.
    • Key Stage 5 A levels are offered in all Sciences.

    To fully involve students in learning (student centred) they are provided with a programme of study at the beginning of each term.  Their work is carefully monitored and assessed regularly with the students involved in target setting to develop their own skills and understanding.  A variety of learning styles are utilised within the department that ensure students are at the centre of learning.

    Corby Technical School is a free school that opened in September 2012. The school was rated as Outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and we would be looking to employ a person who shares our aspirations for excellence. 


    Corby Technical School requires a professional and self-motivated Examinations Officer to join our growing team. The post holder will be responsible for the smooth running of internal and public examinations. You will have relevant experience in an educational setting and be comfortable liaising with colleagues and students, and leading a team of exam invigilators. Experience of managing school examinations is highly desirable but training and mentoring is available for the right candidate.   You will be required to work during our May school holidays and flexibility is required during the examination results window in August. 
     
    The successful candidate will: 

    • Work closely with colleagues across the Academy, building effective relationships with all staff and students
    • Be a first point of contact for all staff at the Academy in relation to exams
    • Have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, in particular Excel

    We are seeking to appoint a Site Supervisor to work within the site team to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate may already have experience in working in a school environment, but the prime requirement is that they are personable, friendly, adaptable and able to work both within a team and under their own initiative. This will be a busy and demanding position. 


    The person appointed will be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff, parents and the local community as necessary.   Normal working hours will a rotating shift pattern of 6.00am to 2.30pm and 12.30pm to 9.00pm.  There will be the need to adapt these hours on occasion to suit the needs of the school.  This is a 52 week contract so will include working during school holidays.

    The successful candidate will work with initiative and have previous experience in a senior management role. They will have the ability to manage teams effectively and to work in a confidential manner. They will have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and have excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of working in a school would be an advantage.
