    Kettering Science Academy is looking to appoint a Student Support Officer (SSO) to join its pastoral team. The current team of Student Support Officers provide a holistic approach to pastoral support by assisting with student behaviour, attendance and welfare.

    If you are self-motivated and passionate about improving outcomes for all students, we would love to hear from you.

     

    Our SSO’s are part of a wider team within the Academy, working closely with a team of Progress Leaders and a Vice Principal with responsibility for behaviour, attendance and welfare. SSO’s work with designated year groups of students and a link Progress Leader. This helps develop positive and productive relationships with students. The successful candidates will be a first point of contact for students, families and other agencies.


    The successful candidate will:

     

    • Be an excellent communicator, capable of working effectively with students, colleagues and families
    • Keep accurate records of all dealings with students and families
    • Support positive student behaviour and to follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies

    The successful candidate will work with initiative and have previous finance experience in a busy setting. The successful candidate will also be organised, enthusiastic and committed.     Following the recent departure of one of our Cover Supervisors, we are looking to appoint to this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in teaching or equally someone with more experience within education looking for a new and exciting challenge.

    We require a self-motivated, flexible candidate to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team. Our Cover Supervisors are key members of our team. They make a valuable contribution across the academy ensuring that students continue to learn in a supported environment when a dedicated class teacher is unavailable for the period.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Supervise students on a lesson-by-lesson basis in departments across the Academy.
    • Ensure students remain on task and make progress during their lessons.
    • Assist students with their work, helping them understand tasks and supporting them in their learning.
    • Manage student behaviour and follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies.
    • Be available for tasks and deployment for such things as: accompanying Academy trips, workings with students with SEN, invigilating examinations, collecting and displaying work.
    • There may be a requirement to lead a tutor group.

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to add to its team of Exam Invigilators in preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations. Our team of invigilators ensure that all examinations at the Academy are conducted in line with regulations. Our Invigilators contribute to the smooth running of all examinations, including mocks throughout the year. The Exams Officer provides support and guidance to the team of invigilators.

     

    If you are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential and have an eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.

    • Help prepare the examination rooms
    • Ensure all exams are conducted in an appropriate manner in line with regulations
    • Assist with any basic administration linked with the delivery of the exam

They make a valuable contribution across the academy ensuring that students continue to learn in a supported environment when a dedicated class teacher is unavailable for the period.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Supervise students on a lesson-by-lesson basis in departments across the Academy.
    • Ensure students remain on task and make progress during their lessons.
    • Assist students with their work, helping them understand tasks and supporting them in their learning.
    • Manage student behaviour and follow up on good and poor behaviour issues according to Academy procedures and policies.
    • Be available for tasks and deployment for such things as: accompanying Academy trips, workings with students with SEN, invigilating examinations, collecting and displaying work.
    • There may be a requirement to lead a tutor group.

    • Be responsible for pupils who are not working to the normal timetable

    Kettering Science Academy is looking to appoint a Student Support Officer (SSO) to join its pastoral team. The current team of Student Support Officers provide a holistic approach to pastoral support by assisting with student behaviour, attendance and welfare.

    Our SSO’s are part of a wider team within the Academy, working closely with a team of Progress Leaders and a Vice Principal with responsibility for behaviour, attendance and welfare. The successful candidates will be a first point of contact for students, families and other agencies.
