Kettering Science Academy

Kettering Science Academy boasts one of the most exceptional school buildings in North Northamptonshire. This building along with our dedicated staff and has given us the all of the raw materials we need to create an inspirational learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

Our aim is to make learning exciting and enjoyable so that students can thrive and fulfil their potential - 'be the best you can be'. We offer a wide and varied curriculum covering enhancing the National Curriculum offer with a range of additional opportunities, putting particular emphasis on science and enterprise activities.

This emphasis, alongside extensive extracurricular activities, provides breadth and depth at all levels for our students. The opportunities we provide at KSA offer every student the skills and support that they need for the greatest chance of future success.

In 2020 the facilities we offer students at Kettering Science Academy were enhanced by the opening of our dedicated Sixth Form block.

    Personal Assistant to Principal (Maternity cover)

    In the role of Principals PA you will be delivering a comprehensive and confidential administrative service to the Principal, Senior Leadership team and Local Governing body.

    This is a dynamic fast paced role where you will provide effective and efficient support to the Principal of the academy and provide excellent service to the overall running of the academy. You will also be liaising with parents, staff, governors, trustees and external agencies on behalf of the Principal.

    What you'll need to succeed? We are looking for candidates who have strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task, with good attention to detail. You must be self-driven and passionate to join a team of dedicated support staff who are determined to work for the best possible outcomes for their students.

    The candidate is required to have the complete trust and confidence of the Principal, playing an important role in supporting SLT, as well as understanding that confidentiality is at all times vital to the role.

    Kettering Science Academy requires a Teaching Assistant Level 3, you will have expertise working with students with a range of special educational needs. The successful candidate will be required to work one-to-one, in small groups as well as supporting other students within the school. They will be a well-motivated and compassionate individual capable of working both as part of a bigger team and independently. The successful candidate will join a supportive and friendly team and be experienced in supporting the delivery of the curriculum.

    You will be responsible for promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students and show awareness of complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.

    We will consider applications from candidates who are currently Level 2 Teaching Assistants and willing to work towards their Level 3 qualification.

    Do you enjoy working with young people and their families? We are seeking an Education Welfare Assistant to work within our Inclusion team to provide early help and support so that we can ensure the very best outcomes and wellbeing for our community. This will involve working with individual students, small groups and also families in a solution focussed way, so excellent communication and people skills are essential. You should have a detailed knowledge of safeguarding and early help and Inclusion issues, including a toolkit to provide support. You will be part of a caring and nurturing team who want the very best for our young people.

    The Inclusion Team at Kettering Science Academy consists of a wide range of professionals including SENCO, TA’s, School Counsellor, School Nurse and the Safeguarding Team.     The Inclusion Team at Kettering Science Academy consists of a wide range of professionals including SENCO, TA’s, School Counsellor, School Nurse and the Safeguarding Team. Together we work to support our students and their families so that their outcomes are the best they can be, supporting the schools ethos of ‘Being the best you can be’ through Knowledge, Strength and Ambition.

    Do you enjoy working with young people and their families? We are seeking a Student Support Officer to work within our Inclusion team to provide early help and support so that we can ensure the very best outcomes and wellbeing for our community. This will involve working with individual students, small groups and also families in a solution focussed way, so excellent communication and people skills are essential. You should have a detailed knowledge of safeguarding and early help and Inclusion issues, including a toolkit to provide support. You will be part of a caring and nurturing team who want the very best for our young people.
