Following a successful first year of the Brooke Weston Trust Primary Training Hub, we are thrilled to be launching the second year of this exciting programme. Once again, we will be offering high quality professional development for primary teachers, senior leaders, support staff and Governors across our local area.
Our comprehensive programme has been developed in response to the development needs of the primary schools across the Brooke Weston Trust, but many other schools may well have similar development priorities, so we are inviting all schools in our local area to take advantage of this training and development to support their school improvement priorities.
The sessions will take place at our newly developed Primary Training Hub venue located within Oakley Vale Primary School in Corby. This venue is a tailor-made training room which can accommodate up to 20 delegates in comfort.
We hope that you will find the content of our courses relevant to your school improvement priorities and look forward to meeting you at a future training session.
The Primary Training Hub team
Primary Training Hub Leads
Jane MacDonald, Principal at Gretton Primary Academy and Carrie Norman, Director of Brooke Weston Trust Primary Curriculum and Teaching Pedagogy, who are both Local Leaders of Education (LLEs), have developed this programme. Our training sessions are facilitated by experienced leaders across our Trust and enriched by regional and nationally recognised educationalists. This includes subject association leads, Lead Ofsted inspectors, external consultants who work with the DFE, plus the inspirational Tom Bennett.
Jane MacDonald - Principal at Gretton Primary School
I have been Principal at Gretton Primary Academy for the last six years, and am proud to be part of the Brooke Weston Trust. As well as leading my school, I am a facilitator at the Brooke Weston Trust Teaching School. I am also the Chair of the Brooke Weston Trust Leadership Academy Board which has designed a programme of professional development opportunities to upskill leaders of the future within our Trust. This work dovetails well with my role in the development of the Primary Training Hub which I am delighted to be working on.
Carrie Norman - Director of Curriculum and Teaching Pedagogy BWT
I have been proud to be Principal at Peckover Primary School for 10 years and lead the school to success in an area with a challenging context. I begin my new venture as the Director of curriculum and teaching pedagogy for the Brooke Weston Trust this year. It is an exciting role in which I have the privilege of working with leaders and teachers across the Trust Primary Schools to write and develop our curriculum and our pedagogical identity based on cognitive science and research. Formerly, I was a leading teacher for EAL and mathematics for the Cambridgeshire LA. I am excited to be part of the second year of the Brooke Weston Trust Primary Training Hub and build upon the success of year one.
