Brooke Weston Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andy Burns as its new Chief Executive Officer.

He will succeed Dr Andrew Campbell, who is due to retire in August 2026 after 13 years at the helm and 30 years with the organisation.

Mr Burns, currently the Trust’s Director of Education, was appointed following a rigorous selection process that attracted a large field of strong candidates. The Board of Trustees felt that Mr Burns had a strong track record, a detailed understanding of its schools and communities and had a clear commitment to the values that have helped make the Trust distinctive and successful so far.

Richard Morrison, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“We were pleased to receive a lot of interest from a very strong field of candidates, highlighting the high regard in which our schools and Trust are held.

“We are delighted to appoint Andy Burns to lead Brooke Weston Trust. While the recruitment process was highly competitive, the Board is confident that Andy is the best person to continue the values-led approach we are known for. He will build on the legacy Andrew Campbell leaves behind and ensure we continue to deliver the very best for our students.”

Andy Burns, Brooke Weston Trust’s newly appointed CEO, said:

“It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to lead Brooke Weston Trust. I am committed to maintaining the high standards we have achieved and ensuring that our philosophy of ‘Ambition For All’ remains at the heart of everything we do.

“The Trust’s schools are supported by fantastic teams of teachers, support staff and governors who really do go above and beyond to deliver the very best for young people in our communities. I look forward to working closely with them to continue this important mission.”

Dr. Andrew Campbell, the Trust’s current CEO who is due to retire at the end of the school year, added:

"It has been the greatest privilege of my career to lead Brooke Weston Trust, often through some challenging periods for schools across the country. I am confident that we have the right people and culture to continue our success into the future, and I look forward to working with Andy on a smooth transition into his new role over the remainder of this school year."
