What We Do

Initial Teacher Training (ITT) with Teach First

We work with expert training partners to offer high quality, school centred Initial Teacher Training. Our programmes prepare new teachers with the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed to thrive in the classroom from day one. Find out more here.

Early Career Teacher (ECT) Programme with Teach First

We work with Teach First to deliver a carefully structured two year programme designed to support Early Career Teachers and their mentors. Our ECTP offer increases confidence, builds secure foundational practice and supports strong teacher retention. Find out more here.

Appropriate Body Service

Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub provides an Appropriate Body Service for the induction period of Early Career Teachers.

Appropriate bodies support the schools and teachers they work with in a variety of ways and their core functions are central to ensuring that schools provide adequate support to teachers at the start of their teaching career. Find out more here.

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) with Ambition Institute

We offer the full suite of DfE funded NPQs for aspiring, new and experienced leaders with our partner in teacher development, Ambition Institute. Through expert facilitation and research informed content, our NPQs build leadership capability across curriculum, pastoral, and executive leadership roles.

Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub is designated by the Department for Education as a Centre of Excellence for teacher development, with Brooke Weston Academy as the lead school. Both the Hub and Brooke Weston Academy are proud members of the Brooke Weston Trust (BWT).

Through deep collaboration with a wide range of national and local partners, including curriculum hubs and research schools, we deliver high-quality professional development that enables schools and trusts to grow, recruit, develop and retain the very best educators.
