Welcome from the CEO

Welcome to our website, where you’ll find information about our values, our history, and the impact we make every day in the lives of our students, alongside the brilliant staff who make it all happen.
As Chief Executive of Brooke Weston Trust, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you.
Brooke Weston Trust is a family of over 9,000 students and 1,200 staff across six primary and six secondary schools in North Northamptonshire and North Cambridgeshire. Many of our schools serve communities that have historically faced significant disadvantage, and most joined us as sponsor academies or free schools in need of support. We are proud that all of our schools are now rated good or outstanding, some for the first time in their history, demonstrating the transformational commitment of our staff and leaders. From pre-school to sixth form, we are united in our mission to give every young person the knowledge, confidence and character they need to thrive — what we call “tickets for life”.
Our story began with the opening of Brooke City Technology College in 1991, inspired by Hugh de Capell Brooke’s vision and determination to bring better educational opportunities to Corby. Eighteen months later, with the support of the Weston family, it became Brooke Weston City Technology College, and is known today as Brooke Weston Academy. The success of this pioneering school laid the foundations for the Brooke Weston Trust. The partnership between the de Capell Brooke and Weston families has continued to guide our development and strengthen our commitment to excellence and social impact.
Thank you for visiting our website. I invite you to explore further and discover more about our history, our vision, and the exceptional opportunities we offer to both students and staff.
Chief Executive - Andrew Campbell
Ambition for All
The majority of our schools are sponsor academies and free schools, established in areas of disadvantage. Our mission is to transform educational performance in the communities where we work through our long-term commitment to improve student achievement whilst providing opportunities for personal development. At the heart of this mission is our core value of ‘Ambition for All’. Each Brooke Weston Trust school is unique and we are proud of their individuality as we all work together within a shared set of family values. We see ourselves as siblings, not clones.
Our aim is simple; to ensure that every child, no matter their background or starting point, leaves us with the necessary qualifications, skills and personal resilience to live a fulfilling life. It is our job to provide the academic and personal ‘tickets for life’ that will make this a reality.
What is it like to work at Brooke Weston Trust?
We ask ourselves every day: ‘Is this good enough for my own child?’ if it isn’t, it needs to improve, whatever it is, whether that is the quality of the classroom experience, leadership at any level, the school meals we provide or any other facilities in our schools. We can and do can ask this of each other because we understand the importance of caring enough to challenge each other enough.
Our schools, our Teaching School Hub and our experienced Trust central team work together to deliver on our mission and engage with a wide range of other partners to create opportunity for our students.
Having worked in the Corby, Kettering and latterly Wisbech regions for 30 years, I know the real difference BWT has made in delivering hope and opportunity to young people within these communities. It is the privilege of my life to lead the Trust and I am inspired by our students and staff every day.
