Train to Teach with Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub
Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub is proud to announce that applications are now open for our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme, a one year PGCE with QTS designed for people who want to make a real impact in their local community.
Based in Northamptonshire, our training programme is ideal for future teachers who want to learn on the job, gain hands on classroom experience, and start an inspiring career shaping the lives of young people.

Make a positive impact in your community
We offer placements in schools across Northamptonshire and beyond, enabling you to train close to home and contribute directly to the education of local children.
Learn on the job from day one
As a trainee, you will be part of the teaching team in your placement school from the start—working directly with pupils and developing your classroom confidence.
Receive outstanding teacher training
Your programme includes high quality training developed by Teach First, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and delivered locally by our expert facilitators and school based specialists.
Support every step of the way
You’ll learn from experienced teachers through shadowing, team teaching and guided practice, with support from both in school and subject/phase mentors throughout your journey.
Achieve your qualifications and start earning in just one year
At the end of the programme, you’ll qualify with:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
You’ll be ready to begin your teaching career with a starting salary of at least £32,000.
